For inches, Square size or Dot spacing uses eighths of an inch: 2 means ¼ inch and 4 means ½ inch. The buttons above set this for you.

How the paper is madeThis is blank paper generated as vector lines or dots, rather than a scanned image. There are no questions or answers. Verify the printed spacing with a ruler before using it for measured work.

Choose the square size for the task

A 5 mm grid gives you more squares across the page for plotting points or drawing small diagrams. A 1 cm grid gives more room for a digit or a handwritten label. Quarter-inch squares are 6.35 mm wide.

The default grid has a heavier line every five squares. In the studio, change Heavier line every to 0 for an even grid or choose another interval. You can also change line weight and colour.

How to print graph paper at the correct scale

Open the size you want and select Print / PDF in the studio. Choose the same paper size in the printer dialog as on the worksheet: A4 or US Letter. Use 100% or Actual size, and turn off Fit to page and browser headers and footers.

Print one sheet and check a row of ten squares with a ruler. Ten 5 mm squares should measure 50 mm; ten 1 cm squares should measure 100 mm. The browser preview may shrink to fit your screen, so measure the printed paper rather than the screen. Printer margins can clip the outside edge.

Does this include axes or plotted questions?

This is blank square-grid paper. It does not contain labelled axes, coordinate questions or an answer key. Add your own axes and labels after printing, or use the blank grid to align digits in written calculations.
